GS1 Standards for Healthcare Providers Online Certificate Course includes 5 modules that help Healthcare Provider staff gain a better understanding how GS1 Standards improve patient safety and supply chain efficiency.

Module 1 - GS1 Standards and the U.S. FDA UDI Rule and Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA)
Module 1 introduces the U.S. FDA UDI Rule* and the Drug Supply Chain Security Act**, and how GS1 Standards are being used to implement them. This module will help attendees learn more about each supply chain member’s responsibilities and clarify the deadline dates, as they relate to Healthcare Providers.

Module 2 – Identify for Healthcare Providers
Module 2 will review the GS1 Identifiers that Healthcare Providers may encounter and will want to be sure to recognize. It will also review the Global Trade Item Number® (GTIN®) and Global Location Number (GLN).

Module 3 – Capture for Healthcare Providers
Module 3 will discuss and review GS1 Automatic Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) to help attendees understand the GS1 barcodes that Healthcare Providers may encounter.

Module 4 - Share for Healthcare Providers
Module 4 will focus on the GS1 Share Standards. It will introduce how GS1 Standards are used to share product master data and information for tracking and tracing products in the supply chain.

Module 5 - Resource Lesson
Module 5 is the Resource Lesson.
Here attendees will find a suite of tools to assist Healthcare Providers with the proper implementation and use of GS1 Standards.
